Weather & Clothing Information in Jeju Island

Jeju Island is beautiful all year round. It has four distinct seasons just like mainland Korea, and every season provides different beauty to its visitors. It generally tends to be less hot in summer and less cold in winter compared to climate in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. We'll have a look at the average temperature throughout the year and the proper clothing while staying in Jeju Island.

Spring (March - May), Fall (Late September - November)

Spring and fall are probably the best seasons to travel Jeju due to its wonderful climate. The average temperature is between 10-20°C. During these seasons, the temperature difference between day and night is quite big, so it would be wise to layer up. You could wear a t-shirt (long sleeves or short) inside and wear a jacket outside so that when you feel hot during the day, you could take it off and put it back on in the evening.

Summer (June - early September)

Summer in Jeju Island tends to be very humid and hot. The average temperature is 20-30°C. Therefore proper summer attire such as short sleeves and sandals are needed. However, Jeju is a windy island, so some places could feel chilly depending on the weather, so if you feel cold easily, it would be nice to bring a thin cardigan or jacket with you.

Winter (December - February)

Average temperature in winter is 1-10°C. It has moderate rainfall with a lot of wind especially in the coastal area, so proper winter attire such as thick jackets and coats are very necessary. If you're planning on going to mountain areas, there could be snow, so boots can be useful as well.
